At the end of the Craig Anderton Sonar Advanced vids (forget which one) he shows how to do this in Sonar (X1 but it will be the same). He even shows how the do crossfades into other tracks.
However there are much better/easier programs to do this in. I used to use an old version of Wavelab on my old DAW. I bought Pyro to kind of do it on my new DAW (but it doesn't do Red Book supposedly). There is a video on youtube showing how to use Reaper to do all this stuff (so you could just download the full demo and follow the vid) and it will provide proper results but again it's not the easiest/best way to go about it.
This is one area I think Sonar could really hammer the competition on if they implemented it.
