This is a much deeper issue than I thought it was. The motives are a lot different than I originally thought. For all I know the show could be a lie and the women could all have other men elsewhere. The pretense has financial rewards.
I'm wrong in saying that they are all really married according to the law in Utah, when only one of them is.
They can co-habit but only one marriage is recognized. Maybe another way to look at is , it isn't legal to marry 5 women and treat them like wives but you can still do that. Sounds like a contradiction. Much like some of the issues going on in state legislatures concerning gay marriage( for the record i'm not gay )...but I do see a similarity in how this is handled.
The state doesn't seem to have a problem financially supporting the behavior and thereby helping to perpetuate something they have voted not to condone. Make sense?? Not to me.
This show has cost me an injury. I was laying on the sofa and I asked my wife to toss me the remote. After flying though the air for 15 ft. the remote hit me right on the head. It hit and then bounced off. I feel bad for that remote. I don't think she aimed it at me.
Before I turned up the volume I thought I heard the woman say , " You've seen a lot of vaginas". My wife tells me she said something about her pajamas....whew.
