It's due to their close affiliation with IK....

Mesh
It's like my Jam Points......collecting dust.

Although, I did check on the new Neve EQ to see what kind of discount I get, and was able to use (I think) 37 J.points......which made it to be $87.99.....

But why? when I can catch it on next weeks GB.

Or you can buy the pair from Kuassa with the 81 and 84 for $65 and have $20
left towards something else...

BTW I downloaded the Kuassa Demo and they are nice EQ's.
Especially for that kind of money...but that's just my opinion...
your mileage may vary.

IK_Multimedia
Culled from a single forum thread, I'm biased but I'll bet these folks (from a place with more than a fair share of industry pros) would agree ours sound better but definitely save $20 if that's more important and yes, YMMV:

"Very impressed IK. Never heard an itb eq do this kinda stuff before."
"Ohhh my goodness [sic] it sounds so right on bas [sic], drums, guitars etc. that its almost stupid"
"these sound great"
"they sound is amazing"
"Actually i like the eq on the plugin much better than the hardware"
"I actually prefer the 'air' the 73 added more than my Clariphonic HW unit....which nothing has beat yet."
"Must agree that these 2 IK Eq's are top notch and for ITB Eq, they're now my go to."
"Great job! I'm replacing my old V-Series with them in some sessions and there is a marked improvement"
"Great work IK. Every plugin coming better and better.. Those two are amazing."
"Really rich, meaty EQ. The Q is amazing when used with the input drive... the lows, low-mids and mids + input drive ... holy smokes."
"These guys do have a legacy, like it or not."
"...this IK 1073 works like magic on distorted guitars"
"...comparing to AlexB's Nebula 1073.... and trust me this is THE MOMENT I've been waiting for... I think it may be beat."
"These EQ's are amazing!"
"I 100% concur with your rave reviews. These things are going to replace Nebula for at least Neve, if not for the processing of EQing altogether."
"I am not going discredit other people opinion - but usually it's a hype with these products. At least for me. Well this one isn't just hype. I will probably buy it. It does have such nice weight and pleasant tone. Really it is special. Wow."
"very impressive plugins, the most musical and organic 1073/1081 emulation up to date"
"I'm under the impression that once again, ik multimedia just kick the competitor asses!"
"there is a tone and sheen added to them which really speak about these EQs. Really silky smooth and full of weight."
"Best IK release to date IMHO."
"Wow, I'm speachless. The EQ73 sounds surprisingly good, reminds me of how good the Comp 670 is (until now it was, in my opinion, the best thing in T-RackS). I like it better than AlexB 73eQ for Nebula, no doubt."
"You managed to make the best plugin EQs ITB ever IMHO. I am speechless. These two wipe the floor even with Nebula renditions. They make other Neve clones sound like joke. And thank you for avoiding the concentric knobs as these make no sense ITB, just do the handling cumbersome. This is by faaaar your best release which highly surpasses everything UAD has ever done in the EQ land. These do have a weight that is expected, do have silky smooth highs and superb midrange. I don't know how you did it, but you definitely did. Benchmark for all the other EQs from now on IMHO."
"IK has taken the 1073 crown in my book."

Every vendor out there "touts" their superiority and superbness...and analog-ness....blah blah blah...

And they ALL have PRO testimonials....etc...

They ALL do it...and then a year later, when the dust settles....

Slate stuff is GREAT
Waves stuff is GREAT
Fabfilter stuff is GREAT
(the Kuassa EQ's for the money are quite nice)

you get the idea....and they are...the question is....can you justify the price
AND why pay top dollar when a few months from now, or sooner they will
be on sale?  Example, when it was released VBC was $199 INTRO.  NOW that
price is the NORMAL price and the sale price right now is $85!

WHY do that?  WHY not just "sell them at a (more) reasonable price out of the gate"?
The reason they don't is to take advantage of the consumer and "get the most while you can"!

You certainly wouldn't be hurting yourself in the process!

Funny but relevant story: JC Penney tried doing just that...selling things for the lowest price possible everyday and doing away with "sales". And it almost bankrupted them! They had to scramble and go back to the old "20, 30, even even 40% off" thingy just to get back in the game. Seems we dimwits like to think we're getting over on someone else when we buy things. Human beings...why bother.

That is indeed it Ol Pal.  It's "Bred" into us.  We're trained by society to "Think that way".

As I said, it's the "illusion" of value.

But I don't really think that would be problem in this business.
They'd sell a lot more product...and have a lot more happy customers...

But, then again, it is part of us to like to think the exact opposite...
