  • Addictive Drums Randomly Drops Out

I am using XLN Audio's Addictive Drums with a MIDI track and a single synth track. Now and again, seemingly randomly,  all the output drops out from that synth. Not too annoying when mixing because it seems to clear when played again, but it just happened on an export to an MP3 file - just dropped out for a period of about 10 seconds mid track.

Any ideas on what might be causing this, or any remedies, will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

A few things.

Make sure you're not using a "demo" version of a plugin on those tracks.  They sometimes
put either "noise" or "dropouts".

Make sure the CPU isn't getting overloaded.  This can cause dropouts as well.

Make sure you haven't inadvertently put some "automation" on the Volume Envelope.

Just ideas...

Poop happens when you party naked....

I had random dropouts with AD the other day while having one instance each of EZdrummer and Addictive drums. I couldn't figure it out to save my life. I finally just closed and re-opened AD and all was fine. I don't know what caused it.

Not sure if it's related, drop out occurs on Session Drummer 3 often in X3.

By dropping out, I mean :
- mostly it would play fine, especially when there is not a lot of tracks (I normally starts with some drums).
- then a few bars (at random) would go missing, before it picks up again.

This is new in X3, but I can't reproduce it in a consistent way : I would start off a tune with 2 measures of empty bars - sometimes after playing back a middle section and jumping to the beginning of the tune, SD3 would play at the beginning of the empty measures.

SD3 is my go to drums since X1 and I did not encounter that up to X2. For the last few projects, I've been using BFD3 now and did not encounter such issue.

Thanks for the replys everyone.

Checked c clarry's points out, but all were OK.

The only thing I've managed to find is that I had inadvertently added an empty track lane to the single one containing all the MIDI data. I'm not sure how I did that but now I've deleted it, the drop-outs haven't reoccurred - not sure it was the cause or not.

Cheers
