Thought I'd close the loop...

I now have a license for Timeless... and I am quite pleased. It does not hurt one bit that I got to spend some time with all of them before making my purchase. I know what it can do... well, at least I know some of what it can do<G>!

I ended up comparing AudioDamage Filterbank to Volcano 2 - they are not the same, and I'll eventually add Volcano to my toolbox, but I decided that much like Pro-C vs other compressors, I had a really good filter toy already. (I also have the Moog filter from UA, which I love, but it isn't as flexible as Volcano or Filter Bank.)

The biggest surprise, for me, is the sound of the filters. As I said, I use Filterbank and the Moog a lot, and I really like them. I don't think I would say that Volcano sounds better - but I will say that it sounds different enough to give me a whole new tool, when I finally break down and buy it<G>!

Thanks everyone for the input - not an easy choice! (It would have been much easier to just buy everything<G>!)

I'd go with Timeless2 and Pro-Q.  You get the 40% discount on Timeless2, then throw Pro-Q in the cart and you'll see it's really not that bad to add it. That's a really good tool to have available to slip in anywhere in your signal flow.
