In all fairness, all Bub ever wanted was for SONAR to work (somewhere near) as advertised.
His growing frustration with his Cakewalk product of choice, and of the perceived lack of acknowledgement from Cakewalk with regards to the problems he was having, is what led him to make comparisons with other company's products and their (apparently superior) attitude toward customer service.
I may be wrong, but I don't recall him ever
starting any trouble, and when he did retaliate to provocation, he didn't say anything particularly untoward, other than setting the record straight and pointing out the facts as he saw them.
I've done and said a lot worse than Bub ever did in these forums, as have a lot of people, but in my opinion Cake (quite wrongly) decided there was a need to make an example of Bub.
For what it's worth, I think all viewpoints on Cakewalk products, and on their competitors, is valid as a topic in the Cakewalk forums. What would you prefer - reading post after post of sycophantic trite from the likes of John and Daveny5, or being involved in a rational discussion about the cons, as well as the pros of the software we are obviously all fond of?
I've said it before and I'll say it again - any product will only evolve and become better when the folk who make it listen to and take notice of their critics, not their fanboys.
