Strum provides a very well thought out interface to allow a keyboard player to play like a real guitarist.  Before making a decision, check out the video on the AAS site where somebody who really knows what they're doing constructs a totally compelling (IMO) performance.  The video can be seen here:

If you're interested, I just wrote a review in which I spend a fair amount of time describing how the interface works.  You can read that here:

Great review David

Don't forget Vir2 Acou6tics in the list. When it comes to strumming it has one of the most powerful realtime strumming and chord detection engines! Go to YouTube and look for Acou6tics tutorials and the "Solitude on Guitar" MIDI demonstration (to show what's possible in terms of realism with Acou6tics)

Once you get Kontakt, it'll open up a LOT of doors to all the various instruments/sounds......and very good quality sounding instruments (plenty of 3rd party libraries). See if there's a crossgrade path available to get Kontakt.

If you're just needing basic strum sounds, I don't think you can beat Ample Sound AGML.  Like Larry said, it's free, and you don't need Kontakt.  It sounds great, although you're pretty much limited to open chords (higher frets are greyed out).

I bought 2 of the AmpleSound guitars - AGM & AGF just after they released their newest AGL classical guitar.

This was just before Orange Tree's big sale last year.

By buying the first 2 of them, it worked out that I got the 3rd one for free - [AGL].

Not a bad deal at all!

A few free updates have been offered since then as well.
