I am a very happy VS-100 owner, and find there is a lot to like (love) about this little device. But there are a few things that annoy me and wish they would make some improvements. These are not deal breakers by any means, more of a "why did they do it this way" sort of thing.
I will post a couple of my own, but would love it if anyone else has anything to offer this list.
Maybe others have an answer or a solution to some of these perceived annoyances they would like to share?
- Why is there a button for "DAW" / "WAVE RECORDER" if you can't actually swap between them. If a USB cable is plugged in (and to a computer) the DAW Is automatically selected. If there is no cable, Wave Recorder is selected. You are not allowed to make the choice yourself, so why have a button?
- Why can't the VS-100 connect as a Storage Device to the computer while at the same time work as a Controller? If you turn on "Storage" it becomes a really expensive, tiny little hard drive. It no longer works as a controller when you do this.
2b: On the same note. Why does one have to restart the machine if you make this change. I could likely live with it if I could turn on storage, move files, turn off storage, continue work - without rebooting the VS-100.
(There is a very recent thread about this, and is what inspired me to start this thread) - Why is the internal routing so limited. Surely they can do a firmware update that will allow us more routing capabilities. For instance, the Headphone out is fixed to the mains. Maybe I want to assign Output 3/4 or 5/6 to the headphones instead!
I have a few others, but I'm more interested in hearing what others might have to say
