The ability to record on the SD card AND use it as an audio interface at the SAME TIME.  I bought this thinking I could have one unit do it all in a live setting, but it looks like I could have just as easily kept sending wavs to my desktop using a basic VST wav recorder.

Possible in a firmware upgrade?

Hello,

I agree to all post above. The VS-100 is really a powerful hardware for musicians, but with a little bit more as mentioned, it could be the first choice for making music. So please make a little firmware-update asap. It would be a pleasure.

P.S.: But first Windows 8 - drivers please!

I just bought one and put it on my old DAW box. It picked up the system immediately with Win 7 and Sonar 8.5.3 PE. I wanted it to use on my think tank, and it does just what I need and want. The only problems I have with it so far is the lack of documentation concerning the Main input. Since it is an internal input it should be classified as such and there should be an instruction not to use it when other inputs are active and using input monitoring. LOOP!
The Wave recorder is seperated and the storage function is seperated for the same reason as the main input as I see it. The main input goes to the DAW, it should only work to playback the Wave recorder without creating a feedback loop between active (1 thru 8) inputs and the main input.  Kinda tricky. But I think it's a great unit, I only wish all the inputs were TRS or digital.
