Did a complete noob thing and updated to Windows 8 64bit without checking that all devices were compatible. Of course the worst happened. VS-20 cannot be installed using W7 drivers. Not even compatibility mode helps as the installation stops at the point when the device is asked to be plugged in.

Please, oh please Cakewalk, try to hurry them Roland engineers up to update the drivers so i can get back on track again.. Please!

I've had my computer upgraded to Windows 8 for two weeks now. And still waiting on VS-20 Drivers to bring Sonar X2 back to life. Not a good show for a company firmly rooted in the M/S OS!

And shame on you Cakewalk. Line 6 have had Windows 8 Drivers up for their hardware for the past month. Maybe I'll just go back to my TonePort UX2 and reconsider my commitment to you!

Update 16th November 2012. In response to my query on Windows 8 Drivers, I have just received the following reply from Roland:
 
"Roland Japan are currently working on all the Windows 8 drivers.
They will be available very soon.
I apologise for any delay, this is because we had to wait for the software to be released."
 
 

vs 20 here and i am amazed they havent got these out yet.
my interface is only a year old.

I too made the knucklehead move of upgrading to 8 before checking the driver.  On compatability list windows poped up sonar was on there so i didnt even think about hardware.

yes it is the same with the VS-100 and I think also with the VS-700. These units are not as old as other products from Roland/Edirol, which already have Windows 8 drivers.

We're all waiting!

Tive a mesma incompatibilidade em minha V Studio 20 com o Windows 8 por falta de um driver atualizado. Absurdo, pois Roland teve todo o tempo do mundo para desenvolver um driver durante a fase de testes beta do Windows 8. _________________________________________ I had the same incompatibility my V Studio 20 with Windows 8 for lack of an updated driver. Absurd, because Roland had all the time in the world to develop a driver during the beta testing of Windows 8.
