This is the second most tempting deal I've seen today... fortunately I managed to resist the Les Paul for $1299 at Guitar Center, but this one is in my budget range, so what they hay.  Don't really need it, but it's definitely a different style than the other drum software I have.

Seriously, anyone who does any form of electronic dance  or urban pop music, this is an absolute no brainer.  The slicer is superb.  The effects are powerful with compressors designed by the same guy who gave us "the glue".  This program is arguably as close as one can come to an MPC in software form.

Dub, I was thinking of getting this, but I don't have anything to trigger the drums (except the keyboard)......I was planning on getting Machine's Mikro2 (saving up for that)....
I'm not all that good with triggering drums on a keyboard, but might be good to have this when I get Mikro....ya?

Definitely worth it.  The fact that it is an actual functional sampler alone makes it worth the $49.  Mikro makes a great companion to this.  i just picked up a used Akai MPD26 that works great with it (although it annoys me that the only products Akai controllers work flawlessly with out the box is Ableton).  I know there is a map somewhere that makes using maschine and geist together easier.

Thanks!!
Interestingly, I was planning on getting the MPD26 (even found a site that sells replacement pads....supposedly much better pads than the stock), but then I saw Mikro and read very good things about it.
Geist, looks to be a good companion......especially for $49. :)

Overall Mikro is better than MPD26.  As a pure controller the edge may go to MPD.  The pads are genuine MPC pads and can be replaced with all kinds of variations: http://www.mpcstuff.com/mpd26stuff.html  but the sound libraray of Mikro is awesome plus you get massive for free.  Only reason I got MPD was it was basically new and only $75.  I needed a replacement for my LPD8 and did not have maschine money at the moment.  I wish the mappings for Sonar was not so useless.  i am slowly trying to get my Sonar preset to a point where it is useful.
