I've been using 8.5.3 for about 5 years now and for some reason I really can't bring myself to upgrading to X3(I think before I do I need to upgrade my rig first) so I....or well...I wonder....DRAT!!

Trying to be serious here is impossible!

(I figured this place was more serious than upstairs(amateurs)....due to the posts up there, you know the funny Unserious ones they gripe about sometimes while dis'ing CH....but now it's an upside down world just because it's always been Unfunny here thank's to you know who....just thought I would mention that....even though you already know that....)

It's either worth it or it isn't.

A very balanced view though if I say so myself.

I don't think there's anything in the app itself that would need you to upgrade your rig. The X series has been performing smoother and faster for me than SONAR 8.5 ever did, even with my old hardware.

P.S. I think there was something about the X-series benefiting from a video card with 512+ Mb of Vram. But an AMD 5450 is dirt cheap though...

The old blanket is the usual and cozy, the new blanket has to be broken in.

I will say there is an adjustment period to the X3 look and feel and to a lesser degree workflow, but I eased into it with X1 then X2.

Re: Workflow
If you are at the place where SONAR is just a big tape recorder with some occasional MIDI it may not affect you (initially) much.

However if you delve deep into MIDI, speed comping, video and choose to use the Pro Channel, it may take some getting used to.
