"Serious Problem" ?? 
Well it can't be the cost. I've been updating Cakes software for over twenty years and it doesn't touch $1,500.00
which means it's been the cheapest part about it.
 
Since you have no music posted it leaves one to assume you don't record yourself so you must record others and for whatever reason don't post results. ( now if you do record yourself and it's not worth sharing/posting and you don't record others then buying software doesn't matter at all...use what you have until your computer melts down)
 
So, maybe for some reason then you are thinking X3 may have features that will help you record others and attract more business. So the question is not if X3 is good software- because it is-the question is do you have the computer to handle it.
 
So it's not the cost ( and if it is...geeze, you have bigger problems)
It's not the program. X3 is killer and most everybody knows that...even the competition unless they're asleep at the wheel.
It's only your computer in question and that's easy- get the trial version and try it out. "Serious Problem" solved.
 
 

Yep.  Upgrading SONAR isn't why I'm still on Producer v4.  It's the cost of the new machine that's required to run the newer versions.  I can still get acceptable results on an 11 year-old dual-server box running 1.7Ghz with Producer v4.

since i upgraded to X3, all of my music is serious, and very HIGHBROW

Just letting you all know, My computer needs to upgrade first, oh and thanks for the info.

Step 3) Use both for 2X the fun
Step 4) Don't listen to me, I'm still on X2

no upgrade for the Beagle.  I have X2 and most of them prior back to Sonar 4 Producer and including a few Music Creators and at least one Home Studio.
 
I've stopped and the only way I'll have X3 will be if they decide to give it to me for free.
