When I first saw the commercial I thought, huh??  I see others noticed it.

Not really a big deal as our economies are so intertwined, but amazing that no one in the ad company picked this up.  I am sure if they knew they would have tried to get something else ?

Suggestions  ??

(Do not suggest Toby Keith, as he plays a Takamine ; -))

I would have thought it was the lyrics that made it appropriate, not sure how the nationality of the band really matters?

Of course for reasonable people the nationality of the band should not matter, but I would think in advertising if you assume people are reasonable you would not have a very long career in advertising.

The silly stuff people decide to **** about...I wonder how many Germans objected to a Canadian band hawking Volkswagens. For myself, every time I hear a Beatles song abused in a commercial I stick another pin into my Yoko Ono doll.

Working Man is a pre-Peart composition.  I wonder how they divvy up the royalties?

Neil rides BMW bikes ... not shure if that influenced their choice to allow VW to use Fly By Night ... and if so, why not BMW (BMW and VW are separate companies).

Bit,

That is really sad.

That you have a Yoko Ono doll.

I bet it causes her to "sing," ya?

The doll doesn't sing, but the dog has a squeeky-toy that sounds just like the record.

Actually, I was thinking every time you stick a pin in the doll, it causes the real Yoko to do what she calls singing but we call horrible screeching.  However, your reply works too!
