They are very nice plug-ins. Historically they go on sale 2x a year. Look at the News link on their home page for dates of previous sales. Although the News section does not mention the most recent sale which occurred last December. It was the 25% off bundle deal just like the summer sale. First time buyers can also get a 10% discount code from an existing FabFilter owner. Several people here, including myself would be glad to provide you with the code. FabFilter provides the existing user a credit against future purchases when a new user buys using a discount code. The copy protection is a key file. There is a good section in their FAQ about it.

Well, if you listen to Yorolpal you'll buy them all.

But seriously, they are excellent and look cool. On the other hand, for many purposes they are over complicated for bread and butter functionality.

So if you want to go deep Fabfilter stuff is great.

I have a few of them and do use them a lot. I don't regret acquiring them at all.

More specifically, the bundles go on sale periodically with a 25% discount.  Sales on individual plugs are rare, but have been known to happen very, very occasionally.

Timeless 2 had a 50% off sale last year which I will jump all over if they do again. Fab Filter may be the best of the best, but they will cost you. I still like to mix it up and use other things (like Klanghelm, Hornet, Sonimus and Pro channel stuff), but Pro-Q, Pro-C, Pro-L and Saturn are used often here.

Spose I will wait until the sale... it might be possible to use the 10% offer as well? thanks for the offer of a code Scook.

If you choose to buy a 25% off bundle, the 10% first time buyers discount would not be honored. At least that is how it has worked in the past. Fabfilter has been known to create custom bundles so if you choose to wait for a bundle sale, this may be something to consider. Also, Fabfilter discount their products to existing customers based on how many of their products you already own. The personal discounts are shown in your account. One more thing about the first time buyers discount, IIRC, the first time buyer discounts are one to an email address and have an expiration date (30 days?).

None of them are must-haves. None will make your mixes suddenly sound better. None are better than their Waves equivalents.
