Just a reminder that SampleTekk are discontinuing the PMI instruments at the end of the month and they are being sold at half price. The Instruments are available in Kontakt, EXS24, HALion and Gigastudio formats. Kontakt needs to be the full version but they will work on older versions of Kontakt, certainly Kontakt 3, and in some cases Kontakt 2.

There are some very nice pianos to be had for $25. Old lady and The Emperor are well thought of on these forums. I also like Estonia, not the most detailed Kontakt piano for sure but it just sounds nice. I was a little disapointed by the C7 but YMMV. The interfaces are basic but its not much of an issue for a piano library

There are a few other instruments as well. The Baroque Organ is good but here the basic interface is a drawback when compared to, say, Sonokinetic's Tacotta where you can control the stops from a scripted interface, but you be pressed to find as good a pipe organ with a range of stops (25 in all) for $25.

not to butt in...

There are a couple other PMI libraries I'd suggest:
  • PMI Anvils and Church Bells
    • I use these often for both conventional orchestration and sound design. They are really cool!
  • PMI Orchestral Instruments, which includes all of the following:
    • My favorites are the celesta, piano scrapes, piano fx, piano gong, and prepared piano, but all this stuff is interesting - Celesta, Chopin, Hackebord, Klokkenspel, Marimba, Nutracker Celesta, Piano Scrapes, Post Steinway D, Post Steinway FX, Prepared Piano, Prepared Piano Gong, Register Flagio
I'm planning to grab the PMI Accordian, mostly cause I don't have an accordian, and I like the demos, but I can't say more yet...

I got the accordian sometime back, but haven't used it any tracks yet. From the little I played with it, I do like them and there's a bunch of various accordians.  I also got the Baroque Organ with the accordian......now I just need to write some classical polka and fit them all in. :)......I have the Old Lady, but would like to get one more PMI Piano...possibly the Emperor?
I'm very happy with all of Sampletekk's instruments I've got.
