A close friend of mine had to have minor surgery recently and, yup, no health insurance. He's a long time gear nut and is now selling a few pieces to offset his bills. $800 for a custom guitar?  Dayum...  Usually there's one more zero in there (most customs are in the $4,000 to $8,000 range).

Apparently with this guy there's custom and then there's CUSTOM!!!!! You can actually get a fairly nice "assembled" custom for reasonable geetus. All the way up to a complete hand built one of a kind thingy for several large. I think my pal paid around $1400. Another buddy (my best pal) is putting it on eBay for him.


EDIT...I just talked with my pal directly and he paid more like $1100. And he'd take $750.

The silver looks sweet, but I'm saving up for a VariAx.
