I dunno, ol' pal. I've got a black belt in lazy, too. But I refuse to use fake double-tracking unless it's a down-in-the-mix BGV or something.

I've been wondering about which Beatles songs the original ADT was actually used on. I'm thinking it might have been a small minority.

To do the Beatles it would have to have a slider to set how many wrong words are sung per song.

Is it guaranteed to make me sound like John Lennon?

Unfortunately, no.  But it will make you sound like one of the Lennon sisters.

None of the Abbey Road models are included in Mercury. I personally think that sux the tailpipe of a muscle car, but hey I don't get a say so in these matters.

I enjoyed that read. It does confirm that ADT was used on a minority of Beatles songs after Revolver. I'd always thought the double-tracking on "I'm Looking Through You" sounded kinda weird. Now I know why.

Best thing I got out of that article was that ADT was used on the Hammond in "Let it Be". I'd always assumed it was two unsynchronized Leslies.

Just curious, how is ADT (besides the vanity names) different than VX-64's Doubler?

I believe VX-64's doubler uses delays rather than pitch-shifting. I suspect Waves' Doubler is closer to what ADT does, but I could be wrong because why do the same effect twice? I mean, they only have one compressor and one equalizer, right?

Yup...but it has been used by many, many more engineers and producers since then...as you may or may not know...time has passed. Are you vying for the McQ contrarian award?? :-)

Contrarian? Hell no!
