Hey everyone,
check out Vir2 Acou6tics - which is now available after more than 2 years of development. The demos should speak for themselves, if you want more information check out Vir2.com.

Acou6tics version 1.1 is available for download now.  It would have been nice if they had mentioned in the update announcement that you need the latest version of Kontakt (which came out last week) for the instruments to load. Grumble.

Edit:
What I should have added:

I've been using Acou6tics since it first came out. I like it.
I have the full version of Kontakt.
After I installed the Acou6tics update 1.1  I couldn't get it to load in Kontakt. There was a confusing error message.
I found out I had to download the latest version of Kontakt (which had come out one week previous) and then everything worked fine.

So just in case someone runs into the same issue, I was just saying you need to update Kontakt first and then the Acou6tics update.

The demos sound great -- at least on par with the best acoustic guitar VSTi libraries like AmpleSound.  Yes, the price is high, but the number of different instruments in the package, including 12-string, mandolin, ukulele, etc. tends to justify it.

The fact that this runs in Kontakt may or may not be a selling point.  Great if you like Kontakt, but some think the AmpleSound player is more user-friendly, for example.

In any case, good times for those looking for realistic sampled guitar sounds ...

Cheers,
Eddie

I really like the Ample Sound stuff and the Support staff is Great. If you write Tabs with something like Guitar Pro 6 the Ample Sound Acoustic and Electric guitars all have a dedicate tab reader now. Plus they can be used Stand alone, Kontakt not needed.

Just to clear things up: You don't need Kontakt for Acou6tics. It comes bundled with Kontakt Player 5, which works as plugin and standalone. And: Acou6tics also comes with instruments that can play tabs which has been exported from GuitarPro. Those instruments play exactly on the same strings as tabbed in GuitarPro.
