Saw a short documentary on the Smithsonian channel called 'Electrified: the story of the electric guitar' (something like that).
Who knew that Slingerland made the first solid-body electric guitar in 1930?

I think I saw that one...  Did it have a segment on Bob Dylan's first concert using an electric?  Most of the audience hated it at that time but Bob realized that it was the direction music was headed.

CraigB (ityrn), they mentioned Dylan's switch to Stratocaster as one of the milestones of the electric guitar.
G. E. Smith performed a lot of the music, using guitars from different eras.

Forgot about the Slingerland guitar. Thanks for the reminder.
