Hi
I want to speed up the process of transferring long reel to reel tapes by recording at 88.2 and playing back at 44.1, thus halving the playback speed.
This works perfectly in Audacity but I can't get it to work in Sonar. I can change the sample rate etc via export but speed remains the same once I reset the host sample rate to 44.1. I could be missing something ....
Does anyone know if this can be done in Sonar (Pro latest) or if the engine wont permit it.

For SONAR projects that contain audio clips, SONAR reads the sample rate from one of the audio files in the project. To get SONAR to play audio clips at a different sample rate, the clip headers must be altered. There are several utilities that can change a wav file header. Here is a thread discussing how to modify wav headers.

Thanks for your reply. In my case, having read the link and various other threads, it may be just as quick or quicker to suck the exported files into Audacity and convert there. My reason for using Sonar in the first place is that it allows me to record several stereo R2R machines simultaneously which Audacity does not appear to permit. These are all 1 7/8 ips tapes - so you see the issue.
