Actually, I didn't think about this originally, but I wonder what the odds would have been going in that Seattle's Defense would outscore Denver's Offense?  (A safety and an interception returned for a touchdown.)

Summary for the Brits and others outside North America...

Denver had what was widely considered the best offensive team, Seattle the best defense. That should have guaranteed an exciting matchup, and is why this particular game was highly anticipated. Opinions were split as to who would win. A great deal of money changed hands in legal and illegal wagering. Even I had $1 at risk (which I lost).

So it was a great surprise when Seattle's defense outscored Denver's much-vaunted offense. Unlike your football, where only one player on each team performs a purely defensive role and players switch from offense to defense every few seconds, in American football each team assumes one or the other role at a time. The Defense is not expected to score points, and doing so even once during a game is a rare event.

It is probably also noteworthy that the two teams represent the only two states that have legalized marijuana. You may draw your own conclusions from that.

Sorry to be a nit-picker, Bit.  Your statement about the teams being "widely considered" #1 in each category makes it sound like it's opinion.  I think that Denver's offense and Seattle's defense were statistically rated as #1.  They probably are going by points scored for the offense and points allowed for the defense.  Other than that, I agree with you.

I was so happy the weather was mild. I did not want any excuses for the beatdown. Those of in the area had no doubt since we watch this team do this every week..well except bitflipper who bet against us lol

This team has not lost a game by more than 7 points in the last two years. If the offense ever gets close to the level of the defense we may have a potential dynasty.

Not many NFL dynasty's in this era of salary cap and free agency.
I'll take the victory, savor it as long as I can........hope the Hawks are contenders next season.
