Push much further Mesh and I'm gonna fall off  Unfortunately I don't have Kontakt on disk so I can't sell it. I do have Studio Drummer on disk though, something to consider for sure.

According to Bapu, the Giant alone is (almost) worth $200..........whether you need (or not) the other stuff is........well......more is betterererrer no?

I don't know about worth $200 (Bapu, you kidder you...:) but I did play with it today and it has a lot more going for it than I first thought. When I first cranked it on my initial reaction was Whoa, listen to those lower registers and after messing with it for an hour, or so, I saved a preset that I am pretty happy with that includes a decent half pedal. I still intend to tweak it a little more which means it has my interest.

I really wish NI would have represented this better with some well made presets that were not just washed out in space or overly resonant just to make it sound BIG. I'd still say it was at least worth half of the admission price.

In addition to the full version of GR5, I'm also looking forward to Reaktor, FM8 and Absyth, along with soundsets like the Giant.

Some nice deals there. That Rick is a great Bass. Also I love freebies and you can get a ludicrous amount of free instruments for K5. I have no idea what I'm doing with it, but Reaktor is like one of those old radio shack electronic labs for audio, you run the wires around and see what squawks you can make. Releases your inner ten year old.

Funny, I was just thinking about Radio Shack earlier today and how they use to give out a free battery every month when I was a kid.

As far as K5, it really is easier to get started and up & running with it than it seems. I was quite surprised how soon I learned to use it, and now I'm almost completely comfortable with it to boldly venture into the rest of what I have yet to learn.

So I just received a reply from NI telling me that I can't sell any kontakt instuments purchased from the NI store that were downloads, only packaged products can be sold. I am starting to remember why I have a love/hate relationship with NI. Right now it's more of the later than the former.

I wonder it they have any affiliation with IK multimedia???

Oh well, live and learn. Like Bapu said, "The Giant alone is worth $200" but I already had The Giant and it was one of the dupes that I wanted to sell...

I spent  lot of time going through and listening to demos of everything in Komplete 9 .I tried really hard to convince myself that I needed it.

If I were bigger into electronic music I would have been like a kid at Gamestop. Lots of sounds in there for that genre and similar ones. There's a lot to like about the collection. If I had only one title to crossgrade it would have been a no brainer.

+1    I've spent a few hours now just going through Reaktor, Absynth, Massive and Battery - wow, the synth aspect is nice!

But I also like some of the additional Kontakt libraries that don't come with Kontakt itself, like Vintage Organ, four different piano libraries, the Scarbee bass, etc.    Overall I'm finding it to be money well spent, at least for someone like myself who only owns Kontakt... and purchased recently enough to not have any additional libraries.   There's enough in there to keep busy for a while!

Thanks again to Larry for this thread!

Well I must report back as I posted above that NI would not allow transfer of down load products but they did. I received the email today saying they had removed the serials from my account and the new buyer will need to contact NI so that they can register the serial to the new buyer which can then down load and install the library. Cool!

Hey stevec, if you want Vintage Organ send me a PM and maybe we can work something out. I also have The Giant and Retro Machines MK II.

Kind regards,
Rick
