Thanks! I don't see them, but I gather from the thread I have to install and register the first purchase first, so I'll try that tonight.

I've had A3 for awhile and haven't tried it - always recording real amps. I'm interested to see if this creates a better/easier workflow...

Yes you just have to register the qualifying AT product for the free stuff to show in the promotions.

I find it much easier to get a sound with the amp sims. It's always there. Same place, same way, just turn it on.

I also like recording direct out of my Mk IV recording out jack. It does a real good job.

I haven't mic'ed and amp in quite a while. Being at home, it's a PITA to do. Because I don't want to play in the same room that I am recording in. I find I get better results when I can go into the control room and listen then go back in the other room, make adjustments to the mic placement/amp settings and try again. Rinse and repeat, over and over! PITA but great results!

Thanks Grem,
I have a studio with everything mic'd all the time, but letting the amps warm up, dealing with someone sleeping if it's late - I think some good templates in Amplitude could really be a creative tool to just open a template and start playing. I also really like the idea of tweaking amps, cabs, effects and such after the fact. As an old-school tube amp guy, I'm thinking I've held off too long on using an emulator...

I held off for a long time too! I got Line 6 Gearbox Gold for $99 back in 06 or 07. I just wasn't going to pay the going price for what they wanted back then. Which was like three to four hundred! Anyway, the situation I was in back then really left me no choice. Living in an apartment with paper thin walls. We all go through this at some point.

But once I got the sim and started using it, it really opened up the way I create a song. I can open any of the amp sims I have (which I did not pay full price for any of them!) and just start wailing away and get inspiration from that. I can go back and alter any song that I have. It's really nice. And if I can't get what I need from the sims, I can always send it to my amps.

So yeah, jump on board. The AT3 deal is great if for nothing else the clean sounds that they have. Lots of good stomps. And good rack gear too. Try the tube compressor. I'm really not a comp guy, I run straight into what ever I play and control my own dynamics. But I gotta say that tube comp works pretty good for me.

I have Amp3 from the Total Studio deal back around December, so I jumped on this. Hoping to spend some serious time with it this weekend (depending on kid schedule).

as much as I fought it, I'm kinda excited about. :) I wonder if it models ground loops! lol

Wow Grem, I also got the Line 6 Gearbox Gold for $99 back in 06/07 and then got into POD Farm ever since. This was also my first amp sim for the same reasons you had (apt. & all)..... like everyone has said, this $99 deal is a real steal considering all the gear/options you get. It's looking good for the 4th freebie :)
