Karyn a FYI-I have a friend who makes custom holsters for rifles and pistols out of the best leather you can buy. Let me know  if you're interested. I can get you his website address.He makes items for some of the top agents and law enforcement here in the states. I have watched him work. He uses only the best  leather and he can make pretty much any design you could imagine.
