Well lucky me!
I've just spent the last 2-3 days looking & shopping around for another String Library since being a bit disappointed with GPO 4, particularly because of the full & constant vibrato on the solo strings, with no options whatsoever to reduce or control that in anyway.
I have no other complaints about GPO 4 otherwise, but wanted some solo strings where I can decide on the vibrato - where, when & how much - or none at all.
I also like the idea of combining a few different string libraries, as mentioned previously by Dan.
I've covered a lot of ground over the net these last 3 days, spending most of my time at VSL & all their stuff, plus looking at the usual suspects - LASS, Cinematic, EW, Symphobia, NI's Strings, Steinberg's Orchestra, etc, etc.
So imagine my surprise to stumble upon this group buy, which is still active btw, as of 1:30ish AM Pacific time Feb. 25, even though the web sale says until Feb. 20.
And as of 8 hours ago according to post #137, I'm also authorization free now - which I applaud as a highly courageous but most considerate move by Kirk - something that other companies might want to look at, although I'd have no problem whatsoever in using a challenge/response setup like @ Izotope or like NI's Service Centre, which is really quite smooth & hassle free now.
...As a sample user, including as a Kirk Hunter Studios user, I'm sincerely very grateful and I hope Kirk is rewarded by customers for taking this step... Well I'm one who's happy to reciprocate & reward this decision above with a purchase.
I believe that makes me #303 of the Group Buy.
I had just picked up Kontakt 5 during the 50% off December sale @ NI for $49.99 [upgrade] so I'm now-a smilin' even more - especially with NI's Session Horns [also $49.99 in Dec.] & few new other K5'ers to kick around!
