Well lucky me!
I've just spent the last 2-3 days looking & shopping around for another String Library since being a bit disappointed with GPO 4, particularly because of the full & constant vibrato on the solo strings, with no options whatsoever to reduce or control that in anyway.
I have no other complaints about GPO 4 otherwise, but wanted some solo strings where I can decide on the vibrato - where, when & how much - or none at all.

I also like the idea of combining a few different string libraries, as mentioned previously by Dan.

I've covered a lot of ground over the net these last 3 days, spending most of my time at VSL & all their stuff, plus looking at the usual suspects - LASS, Cinematic, EW, Symphobia, NI's Strings, Steinberg's Orchestra, etc, etc.

So imagine my surprise to stumble upon this group buy, which is still active btw, as of 1:30ish AM Pacific time Feb. 25, even though the web sale says until Feb. 20.

And as of 8 hours ago according to post #137, I'm also authorization free now - which I applaud as a highly courageous but most considerate move by Kirk - something that other companies might want to look at, although I'd have no problem whatsoever in using a challenge/response setup like @ Izotope or like NI's Service Centre, which is really quite smooth & hassle free now.

...As a sample user, including as a Kirk Hunter Studios user, I'm sincerely very grateful and I hope Kirk is rewarded by customers for taking this step...

Well I'm one who's happy to reciprocate & reward this decision above with a purchase.

I believe that makes me #303 of the Group Buy.

I had just picked up Kontakt 5 during the 50% off December sale @ NI for $49.99 [upgrade] so I'm now-a smilin' even more - especially with NI's Session Horns [also $49.99 in Dec.] & few new other K5'ers to kick around!

Great to hear, JIMUSIC. I only advise developers whose sample libraries I actually use and enjoy, so I'm not just a consultant to Kirk Hunter Studios, I'm a user and a fan.

Some new great news. I just heard from Kirk and he's adding both TVEC 4 and Easy String Arranger for FREE for anyone who purchases Solo Strings 2. If you've already purchased Solo Strings 2 before this change (@gustabo I'm not sure if you purchased the library or not, but this is what you were interested in), simply go back to your download page, refresh it, and you'll see the additional instruments at the bottom of your download list.

edrummist - I know you were an influence on ESA as an idea. I already have it for Pop Rock Strings. If I download ESA with my Spotlight Strings set of files does it work with Spotlight Strings?

If so that would be awesome!

Hi lawaJava,

I came up with the initial concept and name of Easy String Arranger, as well as provided input/feedback on its  development, but Kirk did all of the programming/scripting and GUI design. (Same basic thing with the Evolution guitar line at Orange Tree Samples, which is basically my dream guitar line.) Each version of Easy String Arranger is customized for a specific sample library and cannot be used with other libraries.

Peter / edrummist - you got me excited.  I did just that.  I went back to the downloads page.  There is nothing new there.  Are you sure about that?  I would be really pleased if there's an ESA version that will work with Spotlight Strings and will be included.  That would be super cool.  I didn't see it when following your note above.

Yep, Dan/dcumpian is correct. There is no version of ESA for Spotlight Strings and candidly, I don't know if Kirk is planning to make a version of ESA for Spotlight Strings in the future. I'll ask him next time we touch base and let everyone here know.

Btw, we're down to the final hours. The Group Buy ends tomorrow at midnight PST.

@lawajava I just touched base with Kirk and learned that (1) while he's adding violins, violas and cellos recordings to Spotlight Strings with different mics and recording techniques at no cost for existing Spotlight Strings customers (allow at least a month before these are ready) and (2) there are no plans to create a version of Easy String Arranger for Spotlight Strings. Kirk mentioned that adapting ESA for Spotlight Strings would require a great deal of code that would near Kontakt's script line limit.
