2. A piano roll

After you create your parts, you then drag the bars in the arranger into a SONAR midi track and voila you have piano roll. That midi can now either drive the piano modules in EZKeys (after you delete the arranger bars of course) or any other VSTi of your choice.

After you have a SOANR midi track edit to your personal taste.

Here's a song I did with EZKeys and it's driving IVORY II. http://www.asparapussrecords.com/OTHER/index.html

Regarding the midi, just wondering if you could import your own midi track and expand EZkeys library ?

If that is possible, then there's lots of midi files out there that can be imported ? .. including stuffs from band in a box which I owns.

I may be wrong but I don't think there is a way to import midi files into EZ keys. You can use EZ Keys to play any midi files as it is a VSTi. I think the files that come with EZ Keys are proprietary until you drag them into a project. Once again I may be wrong but that's the premise I've been working with.

Rocky, you are correct.

Before I spend too much more time, I am guessing you all would know.

Should enable midi out be available in EZ Keys ?  I am using it and it does not seem able to turn it on.

Thanks

A VST plug-in capable of MIDI output has generateEvents set to 1 in it's registry VST inventory entry by the VST scanner.

No.

Just create the song in EZKeys' editor. Drag the song clips to a MIDI track.

That's the only way to get the resultant EZKeys performance out of its interface and into some other VSTi (that I know of).

I have it, but haven't had time to explore it enough.  But it is very cool.

Let's say you have a collection of standard midi grooves.  You've got a cool basic I-IV-V blues groove in E.  If you want to use it in your song you can pitch it up or down, but it will still be the same chord progression, just in a different key.

EZ Keys lets you impose your own chord progression on that groove.  If you want to change the B to a 7th chord, no problem.  If you want to make it a minor chord progression, that's easy too.  If you want it to play some jazzy chord that you wouldn't be able to call out to your band mates before the next chord comes up, you can do that too.

And if you want to pipe the midi output into another keyboard, it's not all that hard to do either.

My biggest question with it for the moment, is how often do the MIDI packs go on sale?

About twice a year so far. Don't recall if it's consistent. I bought most of them through audiodeluxe.com.

would be much nicer if the midi out worked, but I can live with that I guess..

Thanks all
