Hmm...

Great offer but it doesn't work here so far. Seems like I'm always battling Fort Knox when it comes to online activations.

Got the download, opened the required free Ilok account since you don't actually need a dongle.

Let UVI install PACE (another compromise).

Created the account with UVI so I could sign in to authorize Mello.

Went through the steps and got a confirmation that Mello was authorized.

Opened UVI with 3 error messages that I can't use Mello because it is not authorized.

Went back to UVI to try and refresh the authorization and got their automated message that I can't authorize Mello because Mello is already authorized.

Wrote a letter of appreciation to UVI for their piracy protection scheme but have not heard back yet.

Was wondering, many here are successfully downloading the program, but has anyone actually got it to run?

John

UVI does have several demo sounds installed with the free Workstation that are good and the intent to give away a large mellotron library for free is cool.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of steps required.  Did you Activate it on that particular machine?  I got stuck on that step too.

1. Start iLok manager on your computer
2. Sign in using your iLok ID
3. Double-click on your Mello license, which should be listed since you already registered it
4. Click on Activate, then follow the instructions

Silhan,

Yes, I followed exactly these steps on the same machine. Something I'm doing incredibly dumb, but will get it figured out. Thanks for confirming the procedure.

Kinda in the same boat as John.

I'm real new at this and the whole jumping thru hoops thing is turning me off.  I see I need to download their player and the ilok (which I hate and have refused to do so far, but the Mello sounds really good).  I stopped installing because I have a question..

My main question is  after downloading the player and the ilok is this a VST in Sonar 3? (something like EZdrummer) or is it a standalone player.  Does it open in Sonar somewhere.

Sorry to ask such a question but like I said I'm bad at this.

I don't think everyone sees it from reading around. Not sure if this works but I saw it posted.

Go to UVI website:

1) Add Mello to your cart
2) At checkout, enter the voucher code UVI24MELLO

I didn't post this as it is a KVR Readers "thing" and didn't want to be in violation of the TOS...
just an FYI...so they can go after Strikey now!

Mrneil,

UVI installs both the vsti and the standalone. Both work. The vsti has to be installed to a directory Sonar scans.

Have used UVI ree version off and on for years. The Workstation (standalone and vsti) installs a few demos that are good even without Mello. The demos don't have all the steps to activate.
