I had that same issue several years ago, my furry friend.  I got tired of getting run off the road by semi-trucks and SUVs.  I got rid of my Corolla and bought a mini-van instead.  It's large enough that most nearly brain dead drivers can perceive it on some level.

I think it's time we just admitted that the vast majority of the public should not be allowed out in public.

Present company excluded, of course!

If people want to know the size and safety features of the Elio I recommend they go by the information posted at the site...not by what somebody else has to say.
I think we all make our own determinations of what may or may not be safe. Of course we always have "big brother" trying to protect us from ourselves too.

Size doesn't always matter.  I once had a driver cross three lanes to cut me off.  I was in a full-sized van at the time.  Clueless.

Jan, you must've really ticked him off?

Soooo... Your time machine is a mini-van and not a DeLorean, eh?  I guess that improves the odds it won't be stolen...

Not that one.  I leaned on my horn and had to step on the breaks.  I eventually pulled up next to her and honked again.  She never looked then either.  The whole time she never knew I was there.

On the other hand , I drove a couple of Toyota MR2's for a number of years and got cut-off occasionally, but not so much more than I did in the van.   The first one got wiped out by a young kid that was drunk and ran a stop sign.  It didn't matter if he could see me or not.  I drove the second one for 200K miles without an accident.

She would have only known you were there if you sent her a text...

This was before cell phones.  It was a "welcome to California" moment.
