I just made some accordions on The CHB website (scroll down just a little to see them).

Welcome to Heaven, here's your harp.
Welcome to Hell, here's your accordian?

One thing I find interesting in this performance is that if you only heard the audio (remove the video), could you guess what the instrument is?

When I was in my early 20's, I played drums with an accordian orchestra.  Had to travel by bus from L.A. to Redbluff, CA (took 10 hours).  Play 1 gig and back on the bus.  They played orchestral music and divided up the parts (violins, cello, bass, horns, etc.).  It was a paid union gig so I made good money but definately had my fill for a while.

Until, I played drums at a Santa Barbara Horse Show with a liederhosin (check spelling) band (accordian and clarinets).  Another good pay gig but we were out in the middle of the arena with no breaks for 3 hours.  No beer out there!

Heh, people have always heard the term "paying your dues," but that there is a real example of the concept!
