GREAT find!  Thanks a heap... looks like I've got some file restructuring to do but it'll be worth it.  Kontakt has always been so cool yet challenging for me.  This helps a lot!

A bit off topic, but I really don't understand the dongle hate... when I upgraded my machine, all my ew and antares stuff migrated without a hitch whereas I spent a few evenings reauthorizing everything else...

While ilok was troublesome in the past, their new software system is slick and works painlessly.  And it DOES protect developers... which enables wave files rather than locked up special file formats.  I wish Heavyocity were dongled and used waves instead of whatever they use as I'd love to be able to access them directly, as one can do in Hybrid Alpha.

We may all buy stuff legit but there are many out there that don't...

While I use to hate the clugy troublesome ilok software, they have improved it and my dongle is just fine these days.

Bit,

I was one of the "iLok" lucky ones when this hit...I had no problems...knock on wood...LOL

Mine has been spot on...a brief "problem" using a 64 bit browser a while back, but if
you used a 32 bit version it worked just fine...so, I really have no complaints...
I've never had a problem with my eLicenser for Cubase...not a hitch at all...
I actually have an extra one I got for free with one of my upgrades...

Hey, Bit... I use to rant and fume about ilok.  The software was clugy and plain sucked. Also, the cited issues were early 2013 and lasted a week.  Recently I upgraded to the latest 64 bit EVO and all the antarese plugs were activated in a few seconds... it's now drag and drop and totally cool.  Was it disgusting before?  yea.  But now it's pretty slick and painless.

Imagine everyone complaining helped change things.

I agree Vastman...it used to be "cumbersome" to say the least.  I was fortunate
enough not to have any real issues all the time I've owned an iLok...I owned both
1 and 2.  When I sold PT 9 I transferred all my licenses to the 2 and left PT on the 1.
It was painless and easy...

My eLicenser has also been painless...I fully appreciate the "protect the property" these
companies impose.

But I know that MANY MANY have had LOT'S of issues with iLok.  So I assuredly understand
the "dislike" factor, especially with the "loss" factor.  The extra cost factor comes into play
as well, so I get that also...

My feelings on copy protection schemes have been expressed in the past - I despise them, and not just USB dongles. Any form of protection beyond a simple license file, any method that threatens to cripple a product that I've paid for, is undesirable.

It's not just music software. Here I am 8,000 miles from home and only after I got here discovered that I couldn't recompile a critical executable because a plugin insisted that I didn't have a license. A plugin that I bought 20 years ago, from a company that no longer exists. I had to set up a remote connection to my desktop back home in order to run the compile.

I agree Bit...unfortunately, due to the dishonesty of the few...
the many have to suffer...very sad, but it's the way of the world.
Honest people don't need laws...they do what's right, whether
or not there is a law.

Thanks Larry! Good timing.

Just what I needed as I'm really getting into working with Kontakt 4/5.
