Noisy Neighbour

Hi,

I'm planning to get Trilian and I'm wondering if some of you could share some experience how it behaves in X3 installation and performance wise. I'm only using one drive for everything without any problems so far b.t.w. No different drives for applications, samples and audio data.
 Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanx!

Trilian works great with X3 and win 7 64bit although you may want to add a dedicated sample drive for it. I've never used it with the samples on the system drive before so I really can't say.

Do yourself a favor and take rtucker's advice.  Get another drive.  They're fairly cheap these days and will come in handy for more than Trilian.

Thanx rtucker, yoropal!

good advise! I have a 3 terabyte external drive laying around. I suppose for the large amount of samples trilian uses it makes a lot of sense too hook it up. It also will force me to learn how to handle the data management of all the other softsynths I'm using. I've always bin a bit afraid too mess things up and I haven't found a step by step instruction how do this kind of thing yet.

Thanks again for your feedback!

Does Trillian have a demo?

I bought Trilogy from Spectrasonics with out trying a demo after reading many reviews that said it was awesome, I quickly figured out that it sounded goofy, and the final disappointment was learning that the company insists on charging another $50 for a license transfer.

Next time I'll try a demo before I waste money the way I did with Spectrasonics.

Mike,

I don't believe that Spectrasonics offer any demo programs due to the size of the sound files. There are video demos on their web site and all over the net though.

I understand that is not as good as actually trying it on your personal system but another alternative might be to get a demo in a music store.

Works in Sonar X3 fine.  I'm using the 64bit plugin version in X3b Pro with no problems.

I have Trillian on a 2nd drive though, I don't know how it would perform on a single drive.

If you do get an external drive make sure it's USB 3 SATA with 7500 rpm 6/GB through put.  faster is better and these drives are almost as fast and steady as an internal 2nd drive.

Unfortunately my iPad...for some unknown reason...refuses to block you Mike, ol stick. But it is bracing, and quite gratifying to see that you are still a priggish contrarian...and an idiot, as far as music making and production is concerned, to boot. Thanks for the laugh. They are in such short supply these days.

Trilian is great if your budget allows for it. Works fabulous with Sonar X3. I would think a second drive is wise.
