I've heard that the best way to get a tune to stop running in your head is to force it to finish.  Then quickly replace it with another song you like.

That said, I used to work at a place where this one manager could not stand the song Copacabana by Barry Manilow and he made the mistake of mentioning that it would get stuck in his head and drive him crazy.  Needless to say, being the sympathetic guys that we were , we'd occasionally text him with "Her name was Lola..." right as he was walking into a meeting.  A couple of times there was a pause then we could hear "Arrrrrgh!!!" coming from the conference room!

I used to hate the song "Dance The Night Away" by the Mavericks, which seemed to on every playlist at one time.  At our wedding reception I instructed the DJ to leave this one out, otherwise it would have spoilt my day.

Yeah, and they say you can stop a headache by inducing a brain freeze.

I've had a video game theme music stuck in my head for almost 30 years. I whistle it all the time. A couple of years ago I looked it up on YouTube and was surprised to find that I was still whistling it in the right key.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this annoying psychological quirk. The dumber the song, the more persistent it is. Here's one you've probably never heard, but that's been victimizing me every morning for the past three weeks...

Apparently it's a popular song by some Spice Girl-type girl group, but I'd not heard it before it was adapted as the theme for a Filipino comedy. They plug the movie every morning when we turn on the Filipino news to see what's happening over on the islands. It immediately goes into auto-replay in my head all through breakfast.

Yes, ****e Girls should be avoided at all costs!

For some reason I had the chorus to the song Terminal City by Machines of Loving Grace running through my head as I went to sleep last night but, the second I woke up this morning, it was STILL looping!

Where's the damn STOP button??!

It won't stop....I keep hearing...

Still, they're cousins,
Identical cousins and you'll find,
They laugh alike, they walk alike,
At times they even talk alike --

You can lose your mind,
When cousins are two of a kind.

arrrrggggg !!!!!
