...a local friend plays an Alembic and won't even let me measure it-more or less build him one.
Now if he did change his mind...he'd pay out the yazoo. Nope, not kidding about that.

Well, I doubt he would go away for evil!  That's just not his style. 

That seems to be the best thing about being in the saddle. You can freely ride in on the same horse you rode out on.

Well I've seen pictures of Bapu with an Alembic but the way digital works I have to go with his word. By listening I can't tell one bass from another.
Now the local guy I see most every day but I don't talk music with him and haven't for a long time...he may play
a Padulla. If I had my choice at spending a day in the build shops I'd choose Padulla since Carl Thompson isn't with Alembic....after all, IMO they've been riding on Carls work. (ducking w/serpentine secret agent type moves)
