I'm at the end of my witts. (as if I had any)

IE refuses to play video cause flashplayer is all wacked up on it and no one seems to know how to fix it.

Google Chrome is making my video adapter crash every couple of minutes or so. It also does not display "strike thru" text properly in CW forums.

ugh!

Try deleting all previous versions of Flash player and then go to Adobe and install the newest version... then IGNORE the messages that tell you that you need to install Flash Player. It works on most things... you may need to update and run Malwatebytes too.

I would say that you have issues beyond the browser, and not sure that malware is the answer per se. I'm inclined to believe there is a serious compatibility issue with the video adapter, and you probably want to get a newer one (cheap these days) that will run better.

But remember that W8 does not have the Windows Media Center (you have to buy it for $10 bux), and you are at the mercy of crap out there on the internet. But you did not specify things, or your video adapter, which I think is the problem at this moment.

I have had no problems until a certain Windows Update a few months back. I would simply Restore the system to an earlier date but somehow all my restore points were deleted - not by me. The earliest one in the list is the original Disk Image which will restore the system to it's original setup of 2 years ago. I really don't want to go there tho I may anyway.

I am not against believing MS and Google attacking my system because of their petty commercial domination wars. But that's getting into political territory so not going there here. But I can say Google Chrome has been removed since it was causing the most trouble.

My older laptop can play videos fine on IE so I use it for that. Actually makes it great 'cause I can watch a video on one laptop while running a program on the other one.

Whenever my broswer gets a bug I just shake it over my head.

I've noticed all sorts of weird stuff happening with Chrome recently - page elements not working like they were before, page position not being recalled when I navigate back to a page, and YouTube videos skipping and repeating parts. Tonight I was watching a YouTube video and I backed out of the page and the audio continued playing until I closed the tab.
