I thought the Harriers were the UK version of The Men's Hair Club.

I need to pay more attention to detail.

Kiddie lost 1-0.

Still, the guy from the club they interviewed on the radio earlier reckons that their cup run this season has earned them around £300,000, a lot of which was undoubtedly down to today's fixture away to a Premier League outfit.

Unlike nearby Hereford United (and a lot of non-League teams), Kidderminster are pretty solvent, so he mentioned that they're looking to use some of the money in a positive manner and put it toward improving the drainage on the ground in the summer break.

£300,000 is a substantial amount of cash for such a small-time club. There must be a lot of lower-league clubs where even a fraction of that sum would make a vast difference. To me, it always seems a little strange when there are footballers playing a few divisions higher earning that sort of dosh for just a few weeks work.

That's what saved Exeter City in 2005. Held Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford and got a replay for a double payday when they were in dire financial trouble, my brother had been doing sponsered walks to raise cash to keep them afloat.

I fail to understand how they can find time to work when they're playing football all the time.
