who has 0 count?  800+, that's not zero.  33, that's not zero.  My count isn't zero.

Detractors?  see there ya go with the name calling.  Your arguments really just don't hold up.

not everything is 64bit and latest version.  I still don't have AAX 64 bit plugins for my ProTools 11 - cause it takes TIME and EFFORT and most of all MONEY. or 64 bit VST plugins so I can use the plugins in Ableton Live 64 bit etc etc.  With Sonar at least there is a BitBridge so I can use older plugins.

Many plugins aren't even 64 bit and some will NEVER be 64 bit.  Small developers or old plugins, just happens.

When you buy product X version Y there is NEVER any guarantee that your going to get another version or version Z.  You hope.  Sometimes pray.  It's usually in a companies best interest - however that's actually up to them, not the user.  I want EMU Emulator III VST and Proteus plugins to be updated - guess what NEVER going to happen.

I did not buy my IK products in the group by, I'm a long time user.  When the products I have don't work for me for any reason, 64 bit VST compatibility etc then I go an buy another product that does meet my needs.  I started with SampleTank, moved to Kontakt, recently bought MOTU MachFive 3 - even thinking about HaLion 5.  Buy what fits the need and works for ya.

Logic will never appease someone who feels they have been betrayed in some way.  Bullying is just wrong and it should definitely stop in this forum.  Makes me not want to come to these forums when it's allowed.

This is YOUR OPINION Machine...and you are entitled to it...but MOST feel you're wrong...

you have every right to your opinion.  But, as I stated, the VAST MAJORITY of SampleTank users
feel differently.  Logic says that IF YOU MAKE AND SELL A PRODUCT...YOU SUPPORT IT.  That's
pretty self explanatory. Especially a "reputable" Company.

You may feel TOTALLY and completely content with the way IK has handled this - GREAT.
The VAST majority are NOT HAPPY AT ALL.  That's a FACT.

This issue as I see it, isn't SampleTank, as a product, so much as IK, as a business.

There is merit in pushing back against rumors pushed by marketing flacks. In this particular case IK abused the hell out of it concerning SampleTank3.

Support? Are you talking about technical support? Because if there are major bugs in your version of Sampletank then I can understand your frustration if it's not being addressed.
However if you mean product upgrade/ next version type of support then that makes no sense. That's not support.
I understand that 10 years is a long time, especially if they've made promises to the contrary. But again, they don't owe anybody anything.

Completely disagree...

They owe the customers who invested in their software the support that comes with  it.
If technology moves to 64 bit (now more then 5 years old) and DAW's, VST's, VSTi's, and
EVERYTHING has gone there, and you turn you back on the customers who are following
those movements and staying abreast, you've failed your customer.  Support is MORE
then just bugs.  It means MAINTAINING the product, keeping it up to date, and current,
AND, above all, usable, which for MOST, this product is barely.

You have the right to your opinion, and if YOU don't care that the product is neglected - GREAT!
But don't say that the REST of us aren't owed anything, just because you feel they don't owe YOU.
But, as I stated before, the MAJORITY consensus is that they have failed....and we do feel that they
owe us the support and maintenance, that comes with a product that you've paid good money for...

Ok, I agree it's more than just bugs. I apologize, but just to be clear, if you bought Sampletank and it's working as advertised, what else is there to say? They owe you absolutely nothing as far as future updates. It might be nice, but not mandatory at all. Sorry, but it's as simple as that.

Have you read ANY of the posts in the forum?  Many have said that at X2 they couldn't even USE ANY of these any
more.  You're not going to win this...the VAST MAJORITY COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH YOU.

You're free to go right on posting about it..but it's a LOST CAUSE.  WE DON'T AGREE WITH YOU!

And the same goes for Monkey, and Machine....you're not doing anyone any favors ...we simply don't agree
with you AT ALL....sorry.

You're completely entitled to YOUR OPINION...keep expressing it...but WE, as a group simply do
NOT agree with you on this at all...READ THE POSTS.  The VAST MAJORITY are in agreement that IK
IS WRONG.   End of story...bye bye..

Didn't get much support over the idea of a dedicated vendor's forum, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The concept would be a win for everyone, and the purpose isn't to keep people from fighting.

I can see a vendor's forum that is read only. Some company comes up with a new product and it gets posted there. Thread is locked maybe and moderators would migrate commercial posts from here to there if they get posted here.

Advantage to a read only post from the developer is that the item would be visible longer in time since fewer people are developing that people commenting. Sometimes here a good tip will go off the bottom if you've been away for a couple days.

A company develops a SE 32 bit crusher, posts in the vendor forum and not a lot of discussion would be here. Someone develops the next generation of 4D reverb and a lot of analysis would happen.

Got to keep my mind open that lack of support for this idea may also mean I'm wrong and it would make a mess. Seems like a good idea.
