My one friend also played a mean Chapman stick.  Did you ever try one of those Ed?

No, for some reason the Chapman doesn't intrigue me. Too simple minded I guess.

The Trilian library has a Chapman Stick. I use it when I want something that doesn't sound anything like a bass.

I bet he listens to the Amboy Dukes...

They weren't that good, compared to what came out of it. They did have a few songs that got played on radio in the midwest, mostly Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison. Can't speak for Detroit.

One of the nice things about "Lana Lane and the Rocket Scientists" was seeing Don Schiff play the Chapman Stick with the band and what a monster sound he used in that band from the bass. Probably one of the best sounding bass players I have ever heard, and that's a hard thing to say when you have seen Bootsie and Clarke!

Pictures of Don and the band on my web site.

No. I'm a beginner and trying to learn the instrument. At this point an Am or Bm or Bs is all the same for me.
