  • Unable to install Adobe Flash updates due to blank download manager? Do this...

For the past couple months I have been unable to install Flash player updates. Every time I tried once I got to the Adobe Download Manager phase (where that little window pops up and the update downloads) the dl manager would be blank. No way around it. So being a lazy arse I just ignored it thinking I'd find a solution later.

Well this morning Firefox started blocking flash vids complaining Flash was too out of date so I did some digging and found this thread on their site...

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1822939

It shows the blank window and describes the exact problem I was having. One of the Adobe doods posited it could be due to the new company handling their download stuff and that if you use scriptblocking it was blocking their domain (of course with no way to temporarily allow that domain because it does not download in the browser).

The solution is a manual install of Flash for your browser. You can find links to those installations at the very bottom of this page (scroll down to the "Still Having Problems?" section)...

Just figured maybe this was biting some of you guys on the arse as well.

Cheers.

Sometimes it's better to just keep your clothes on in public.

(Just sayin'...)

How else am I supposed to get dates?

From the market like everyone else.  Fresh is always better.

So your suggestion is I expose my not so fresh dates to the fresh dates? I think one could serve hard time for that.

Giggety.

If they're anything like bananananas the not so fresh ones will help ripen the slightly too fresh ones.

Hi,

I would almost recommend uninstall it in its entirety and then installing it again.

But I had already heard of issues with Firefox, and it was one of the reasons why I won't touch it. These days I use Chrome more than anything else. IE is getting too slow and cumbersome!

lololol... You seem to be channeling some of my aging punker buddies.

I've always preferred my produce fresh but fully ripened. It's much less annoying in the morning that way.

I had the same problem.  I run Windows XP Pro SP 3.  I don't know why but once I downloaded and installed IE-8 I was able to do the install and also corrected a problem I was having with not being able to scan with my HP 1610 All-In-One printer.
