I was having a problem with the Blank Screen when trying up update Flash.  I am using Windows XP SP 3.  I resolved my problem by installing Internet Explorer 8.  For some reason I was then able to update Flash and also remedy a problem with not being able to Scan with my HP 1610 All-In-One printer.

From the market like everyone else.  Fresh is always better.

Why didn't anyone tell me about this? Can there be fresh at my age? Would I be actually shopping? What's the best times to go there? Would "I've come here for goodies" be too forward? So many questions now and so little time

Beepster, do the following.

Windows+X ->Apps and Features -> Adobe Flash -> Uninstall

It'll probably prompt you to close your browser during the uninstall.

And that's all there is to it! Now go about your usual browsing habits and observe that nothing is different!

I was irritated by those Flash updates for years until about 2 weeks ago when I thought, why in the hell do I even have this junk on my computer? So I removed it. And I haven't noticed its absence once since then. Most things are using HTML5 video these days, and if they're not, then they're probably not even worth dealing with.
