I saw on the SONAR Home Studio forum that someone posted an ID in a 9 year-old thread that was asking about that particular ID. He/she was being helpful so I didn't want to point out that the OP probably wouldn't be back, but you never know; maybe someone else could use it.
Maybe Cakewalk could create a forum page for instrument definitions that we could all post to. Ever since [that site that I can't remember the name of] went down, I don't know of a good place to find the things to direct seekers to.

Hi,

Hmmmm ... a violin is an instrument with 4 strings that you run a silly looking stick over and is often played by people that know so much music they can't even feel it anymore? Same thing for dime-a-dozen guitar players!

Something like that?

No.

An instrument definition is a file that contains the names of the banks, patches, note names, bank select method, and controllers of an instrument. Instrument definitions for many popular MIDI instruments are included with Cakewalk software. If an instrument definition is not available for your instrument, and you are familiar with MIDI and how it works, you can import or create your own instrument definition.
