The Songs Forum has etiquette?


Yes, there is indeed. I discovered this after posting to a song. I remarked that the song was poorly arranged and quite possibly had been a direct but lame attempt at a recording of a known song. The performance was equally bad, from the badly timed and off pitch vocals, to the disastrously mic'd guitars which were badly intonated, not too mention sloppily played. Drums were speeding up and slowing down, leaving the ham handed bass playing with no pocket to play in, not that the bassist could have found it any way. The recording itself was a crap pool of swamped reverb, compressed to the point of the wave form looking like a solid block white noise. The fade out was nicely done, but unfortunately 3:45 minutes late for a song that clocked in at 3:45.
 
Later that day, I recieved 4 PM email notices, which is normally exciting. However, this one was from each of the guys I had just done a collab with. They were flabbergasted at my response to the song we had just finished.
 
Therefore, the etiquette tip I recommend is that you listen carefully and SOBERLY before posting.
