I know of a 20 something, lets say later 20's who has a terminal form of cancer. The doctor said he got it from smoking weed. I guess he didn't use filters.

How about getting 1000's of people addicted to prescription opioids (legal) and then discover they are being abused, jack up the price and restrict availability and then create a heroin epidemic.
 
Way more people killed by prescription meds than by pot.  
 
Of course you don't go to jail for killing people with prescriptions, but you can for selling or using pot.
