Pretend you're blind and press the button that speaks the words/letters aloud to you...

Could you speak up a bit.

I SAID....    oh never mind.

I can honestly say in the seven years I have been a member I have never once had a problem with being able to read it, just the odd brain to finger malfunction, so does that make me very lucky, you very unlucky or one of us needing glasses ?? ;)

FYI, until recently there actually was a lot of spam threads, so I can't see it being removed any time soon.

Glasses firmly in place.
I wouldn't mind if I could just log in and stay logged in, but IE insists on automatically logging me out any time I close a tab where the forum lives. (sigh)

In your IE settings, turn on Allow Cookies (or turn off dis-allow cookies,  whichever it is..)

Why even log out, unless you're using multiple accounts? I love the convenience of cookies and being able to stay logged into my favorite sites. I hate it when I try and access my Gmail account only to find it's logged me out and wants the damn password again.

Which browser are you using?
I prefer Firefox, but lately it's been giving me grief, so I've had to revert to IE. I've considered Chrome, but I don't like the way it buries bookmarks. And Safari, well... I've just never understood the Apple head-space.

There is a button to press that reads the words/letters to you if you can't read them.  Press it!!!

(smack forehead) Doh! I never noticed. I guess that's a side effect of how nervous/jittery/upset I get every time I'm faced with that bloody thing.
I have to wonder if it's a good idea to have those letters/numbers read out, though. Google's been doing some very interesting things with speech recognition, so the bots and spiders can't be far behind. And what will Capcha do then? Show video with someone holding up flash cards of the letters one at a time?

I just went and did this are I remember one of the reasons why I've tried so hard not to use this browser since Firefox came on the scene. I'm just not used to Microsoft's bending of the jargon.
Now let's see how well it works!

Hmmm....

I just tried two of the suggestions:
- turn on cookies: didn't work even though I told IE to always allow cookies from cakewalk.com
- click the speaker icon: it said, "Please type all numbers. Spaces are not required," but that's not what was in the box. It was text, not numbers. Also, there was a green mess that was actually a couple of overlaid links to an mp3 and when I played that, it was in slow motion and even more indecipherable than the written text.
This is some kind of conspiracy, isn't it!

For the cookie to work you need to select "Remember me" on the login page.  (assuming you can read the capcha...)
