I need something like google apps that is not google..   Maybe bing?  Hotmail?   or something?

What's the problem with using Google for this? I use their Apps for business and I have a me@mysite.com address hooked up to the Gmail interface and it works perfectly. I guess everything has their reasons for avoiding something, but I gotta say I've used their setup for over 5 years and never had a major problem with it. 

For a small fee just get a 1and1 domain then use it for email.  I get a few GB's of space with two domains and could have thousands of email addresses if I so wished.

Your other choices are, what?, Yahoo?  Hotmail?  Or?

1and1 is a lot cheaper than GoCaddy!! OMG, I totally see that..
