I'm a senior moderator on a popular forum and my subtitle is "Spam Killer & Admin."  You really need to be paying attention with those idiots and use whatever tactics you can that don't make it too hard on the regular members.  We require them to answer a question related to the forum when they post their first topic and that stops a lot of them.  We also used to check potential spammers against a constantly kept-up online database where we could actually pre-ban a list of them.  As a result, it's very rare now that we get a spammer there.

I don't know if I pissed someone off but the spambots sure had a field day. :)
 
The flood of spam was too time consuming for me to handle so I shut the forum down. I'm considering re-opening it at some point (def won't be using phpbb anymore). If I do I'll certainly be in touch if you're still interested in being mods. 
 
I've been busy with other projects, though, so I don't know if/ when that will happen. The last several months I've launched another site, topic totally unrelated, called SteelBook Review. It has reviews, news, and pictures of SteelBooks and other types of collectible media packaging. We also have a store up and running called SteelBook Review Shop. Are any of you guys into SteelBooks and such? We've got Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ pages, too, if you're interested in following. 
 
I'm also considering opening a forum over there. Would any of you be interested in being mods for that forum if it happens?

So I'm in the final stages of launching the SteelBook Review forum. It's open and public as I finish up the last bits of organization and such. Might take another day or two. If you still want to be a mod over there please PM me here. :)

Oh, Seth ... just remember that if you shake a glove, the French will go to war and if you shake a hanky the English go to war, and if you shake the panties, the Italians go to was. In America, all you have to do is shake your wrist and they will either think one thing or send the troops out immediately to fight for an invisible democracy! Ohh, btw, you should really film it with the kid peeing, and let Fellini film it. Since Fellini is long gone, I will do the honors and after that show a statue of the Sonar box flying by.
