jamesg1213 Amazing how this 'loudness wars' nonsense refuses to go away..everything still has a volume control..
I really think that this goes into the advertising and the "show" that the media makes for many bands and such.
I remember the old days, when the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath were too loud and not that good in concert. But the media was all over kissing them, and the fans thought it was cool to come out of it with your ears ringing. For that matter, later on, The Who, when they were the leading act, were also too loud and my friend that sits next to me, has been partially deaf for about 45 years!
Somewhere along the way, we have to decide if it is the music or the loudness, and if "reviewers" start stomping on it, it would likely stop the inanity and the kissing of these rock stars and what not.
Until that day, the "loudness" wars, both studio and concert, will be all over everything we do. It's the same with that bass pound pound pound ... so talented! But it is loud and louder than the rest!
