Myself and a buddy of mine decided we'd mic-swap for the weekend... My Cobalt Co9 and SM48 for his MXL 770 (it's my first time messing with a condensor). By now, I get the feel for the size, weight, and build quality of this mic. Sadly, I neglected to take note of the fact that my BOSS BR-532 PDS doesn't not come equipped with phantom power.

On second thought, don't!

I've always thought condenser mic's should have the ability to run off an external battery pack. It would make recording in the field much easier.
