I haven't used my Melodyne essentials yet for midi nor I have I used it extensively for vocal tuning. Still I am really tempted by this deal and it ends the 31st.

It seems to be one of those tools that is indispensable for certain things and no other really comes close to doing what it can do. Can someone please talk me out of this?

It's definitely one of, if not THE, the best out there...

Glad you were able to get a good deal Daryl. Until now I didn't know there was an assistant version.

I couldn't get myself talked out of this in time and took the plunge last night. The new version is called one track or something like that. Seems contradictory but they give an explanation.

I downloaded their installer and according to my info the process removes the old copy of essentials and adds a copy of Editor. I ran the installer but I still seem to be getting the essential version when I launch Melodyne. It was late, I was tired, and so I didn't look into it very much further last night. Anyone have an idea as to what might have gone wrong?

I did the same - when it asks if you would like to modify, repair or remove, choose repair - that did the job for me.
The next time you launch it, you should get a prompt to activate.
