I'm sure once other cash strapped states realize how much can be had by tripling the price via taxes, "morals" will magically disappear and legalization will spread. Just about every rationalization for keeping it illegal applies to alcohol and some would argue that alcohol is worse. In Colorado so far 1/8 of an ounce is going for $65-$75 compared to the $25 street value and that's with some distributors absorbing excise tax to keep prices "down". That kind of markup tends to trump "values"
Yes, BUT... 1/8 oz of the stuff they sell legally is probably equal to a whole oz of the stuff we used to get. From what I hear, the stuff today is stronger than the hashish of yesteryear. Is the street stuff as strong as the legal stuff? I ask because I have had no contacts for probably 20 years and not many for 40 years.... 40 years ago I knew everyone and who had what. Alas, no more. Like I said, maybe I should just go to Bonaroo and get my moobs painted. Shirley someone would trust me then...
Oh and perhaps once they see the success of legalizing pot, they will legalize heroin, LSD, and Quaaludes. Ya think? They once sold heroin and needles (works) in the Sears and Roebuck catalog... really, they did.
